Friends since middle school, they discovered they were both crazy about Neil Young. Taylor was cautious and thoughtful, while Kasey was impetuous and outgoing. After suffering through English and PE, they would head down to the beach and play for hours until it was dinnertime.
In high school, both agreed that science was the best subject in school, and took as many of those classes as they could. Both were good students, but Kasey was the valedictorian when they were graduated and Taylor not far behind. Both dreamed about what they would do when they were old enough to leave the small town that was the only home either had ever known. They applied to the same college on the east coast and both were accepted. They moved away from the small village and entered into a life that was very different from anything they had known before. They were both accepted into the same medical school, passed with flying colors and entered residency at two hospitals in the same city. After residency, they both opened practices, bought homes within two miles of each other, and frequently met at a park, between the two houses, to jog. Both married, and each had a son and daughter. All four kids went to the same school and were pretty tight. The two families frequently got together for weekends, school functions, and vacations. But when the world-wide economic meltdown began in 2008, Taylor's business flourished and Kasey's plunged. Kasey didn't know why patients were canceling appointments and feared the practice might go under and college educations for the kids might have to be put off. What was the difference? How could two so-closely-matched friends have such different economic results? Taylor showed Kasey the practice's website, Twitter account, YouTube Channel, and Facebook page.
